He began his “career” in the U.S., by playing in Horse Races, where he won half a million dollars in six months. All his life was dedicated to all sorts of Gaming. He has left the proverbial phrase said with absolute apathy to rival Johnny Moss after a marathon poker game that had kept 5 months, having just lost 2 million dollars. “Mr. Moss, I have to let you go”.

EDMOND HOYLE
Edmond Hoyle was born in 1672 and was a writer known for his books dealing with gambling. He studied law but he was also teaching private lessons for “whist”, a popular game of cards, to members of the English high society. He was giving them some special notes that gained so much popularity to the point that it made him publish them. The book for whist experienced enormous success so Hoyle republished slowly a new book. This new book was about rules and playing strategies for backgammon, chess, the quadrille, the piquet and brag, issued in a single project in 1750. His contribution to the development of gaming was great. He died in 1769. For many years his books layed down several gambling rules that are used up to now.
